Blogmas Day 5 – Christmas Playlist

Hey everyone,

You know it’s Christmas when the shops start playing Christmas music and you hear it on the radio. So today I thought I’d share with you my Christmas playlist (do let me know if I haven’t got any Christmas classics or if you know any other Christmas songs that you think I’d like because I do love my Christmas music A LOT!) Also I am just so proud of myself for working out how to paste that Christmas playlist box thing below *pats on the back* it took FOREVER!

I think Christmas is the time when you have an excuse to listen to festive music nonstop 24/7, to be honest I have been listening to Christmas music since June but hey who says you can’t? (Well actually my mum does but rules are made to be broken apart from there really aren’t any rules aaaand I am starting to ramble so I’ll let you just look at my playlist now!!!)

*virtual hugs* and I hope you liked no loved this post!!! ♥

Lots of love,

Hey everyone,

There’s a limit to everything. And it’s important to know your limit. And right now I’m talking about people’s limits. Every person has a limit and it’s important to realise that if you keep pushing and pushing one day that person will break. But I think what’s more important to realise than realising that every single person has a limit,is that if you go over that line it will be too late. Because after you’ve crossed that line, you can’t go back and undo all of the things you’d done to make that happen. And everyone needs to understand this because sometimes the person that breaks could be someone that you love. In fact, most of the time it is someone so close to you and that is why you don’t realise that person has a limit. They’re so close to you that you just keep pushing and pushing and pushing , thinking they’re okay, they might get a bit mad but they’ll forgive me, nothing will happen. But then it does and you can’t go back. Even if you make up it won’t erase what’s happened, that person won’t forget cause sadly our brains like to remember the bad things that happen to us. I know this is kind of becoming a rant but I’m not just saying this for no reason because it won’t be just that person that will get affected. It will be you and it will gnaw at you until you break too. You might think that sounds a bit dramatic but it’s true. This isn’t the saddest thing though. the saddest thing is people don’t learn from their mistakes. if it’s someone close to you sooner or later they will forgive you but you’ll think it’s okay to push them again. And the  cycle just goes on. until that person as well as yourself completely breaks to a point where you can’t be fixed.

The point is, everyone needs to learn from their mistakes because one day or another it will help whether it’s a small thing or a big thing.

Blogmas Day 3 – The nearly merry Christmas Tag

Hey everyone,

First of all, on my last post  Misstery blog said “Stay true to yourself. Always. Because sometimes we are the only thing we have ❤” and I just think those are beautiful words so I wanted to share them with you guys!

I am sooooooooo excited because it is BLOGMAS DAY 3 AND CHRISTMAS IS IN 22 DAYS!!!!!!

I was reading Sareena’s blog and I came across her Blogmas Day 1 post which was the nearly merry Christmas Tag! And seeing as I love Christmas I thought I’d take part seeing as she’s tagged everyone who’s read it to do it! SO DO CHECK HER BLOG OUT!!! Anyway here goes:

The Merry Christmas Tag Questions:

1. Use one noise to describe how excited you are for Christmas.

CHRISTMASSSSSSSOMGIMSOEXCITED (technically this is one word🙂)

2. What is the best present you’ve ever received?

Good question and the answer is I don’t really know, I have always loved all my Christmas presents so I can’t really choose..oh wait no I can – once I got this shirt and I know that doesn’t sound that exciting but that day I forgot it was Christmas and I fell over and saw a present and then I was like”MOTHER HOW DID YOU NOT REMIND ME IT WAS CHRISTMAS OMG OMG OMG” it felt like you know when you think it’s a Monday but it’s actually a Friday?

3. What is the worst present you’ve ever received?

Well to be honest I can’t really pick cause I just love Christmas way too much to think of presents that I don’t like.

4. As a kid, did a sibling ever receive a present that you wished was for you?

No, not really because I just have a brother so I never really liked anything of his that much. I did however, always want what my friends had, especially if that something was pink, glittery etc.

5. Sing a line from your favourite Christmas song.

6. Rename a reindeer.

Ashwin – yh random don’t really know where that came form to be honest.

7. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

THIS IS LIKE HARDER THAN MY CHEMISTRY TEST!! Everything!! I love it when the sky goes a really pretty pink early in the mornings and in the evenings. I love the crisp coldness and that weather when you sit at home watching Christmas movies, your Christmas candles are lit, you’re wearing Christmas pyjamas and drinking Christmas hot chocolate okay you kinda get the idea. i just love sooo much about it!

8. When do you start getting excited for Christmas?

Well this year I got excited in June and that’s when I started listening to Christmas music. Then I think in September I started watching the movies. I wrote out all my Christmas cards in October. In November I bought Christmas advent calendars, candles and presents for everyone and now I AM JUST SO EXCITED I MIGHT EVEN BURST.

9. Do you use advent calendars?

HELL YEAH! I’VE GOT TWO THIS YEAR! I open my calendar in the evenings even though most people do that in the morning but I wait cause it gives me something to look forward to at the end of the day!!! I’ve also bought one for my Nan’s dog so technically I have three because let’s face it I’m the one that gets most excited in my family about opening an advent calendar for a dog.

10. Recite one line from your favourite Christmas/Holiday movie.

“This is extremely important. Will you please tell Santa that instead of presents this year, I just want my family back. No toys. Nothing but Peter, Kate, Buzz, Megan, Linnie, and Jeff. And my aunt and my cousins. And if he has time, my Uncle Frank. Okay?” this said Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) from Home Alone I REALLY DO LOVE HOME ALONE and “You’re skipping Christmas! Isn’t that against the law?”- so true and that’s Spike form Christmas with the Kranks.

11. Share a funny Christmas memory.

When I was 8 I tied my brother up in garlands and attached a label to him saying “To Santa back to the North Pole” my parents laughed sooo much but I never got why until I kind of grew up. I clearly didn’t like my brother that much did I.

13. Do you have any Christmas traditions?

We go on a Christmas walk every Christmas, have advent calendars (obviously) and LOTS OF FOOD but apart from that not really. Oh and we celebrate New Year’s Day even though that’s not really a Christmas tradition.

14. Real or fake Christmas tree?

REAL FRO SURE. MY BROTHER, MY MUM AND I ALL LOVE REAL CHRISTMAS TREES! Apart from my dad but who cares because we win anyway. My dad says that it’s too much cleaning afterwards and then you gotta cut it up and dispose of it correctly etc. But I think it’s worth having a beautiful, pine-smelling Christmas tree every year in your home.

5. Pictures with Santa…yay or nay?

YAY! I loveeeeeee SANTA!!! Apart from when I was little all the Santa’s I ever met looked half-drunk and creepy but I STILL DO LOVE SANTAAAA!!!

So I tag everyone to do this because I feel like everyone should do this!!! Okay that’s kind of a lie cause to be honest I’m just not bothered enough to find people to tag but I STILL DO WANT EVERYONE TO DO THIS!!! *virtual hugs*

Lots of love,

Blogmas Day 2 – Staying True To Yourself

Hey everyone,

So okay I know it’s the 2nd December already so I’ve kind of messed up the whole “I’m going to do blogmas” thing but hey ho. I’m just going to carry on from now!

So this post is not really going to be Christmas themed because I was thinking and pretty much every single blogmas post is Christmassy and i know it’s called blogmas for a reason but hey who says you can’t bend the rules a little? (well okay I don’t think there are any rules but let’s pretend there are.)

So in this post I’m gonna talk about two things: pencil cases and (hence the title) staying true to who you are (the pencil case thing does link in to that I don’t normally talk about pencil cases for no reason.)

I’m going to start off with talking about pencil cases. So basically I have a pencil case (that just totally blew your mind) okay just kidding. The actual reason for me writing about pencil cases is 1: I have a really old tacky, dirty, childish (you could say) pencil case. And 2: I’ve had it for over three years and i still love it a LOT.

I know you might be thinking okay great you’re getting a bit sentimental here and why am I even  writing about an old pencil case that I’ve never seen. Well the answer to that is because recently I’ve realised that i’m becoming embarrassed of myself. There’s kind of two types of embarrassment. You can be generally embarrassed you know that type of red-in-the-face sort of embarrassed or you can also have a deep black hole that you feel in your chest that people can’t see.

A couple of days ago one of the “popular”girls (she’s nice) came over to my table and looked at my pencil case and it’s not that she looked at in a cringey sort of way but i just felt that feeling when it feels like your stomach is compressing together – if that makes sense. And since then I’ve been really aware of how much I am changing myself to stay friends with someone, generally how much I have changed myself to not be the odd one out. Because this thing called society doesn’t tend to accept you for who you are unless who you are just happens to be what is considered okay and not weird (in a bad way.)

And that just made me really sad because I realised that I don’t want to be that person that i am not I want to be me. I do not want to feel embarrassed for who I am. But in order to be yourself you need to know yourself – I mean that’s not really that hard to work out. So I have been trying to find myself because over the years I have changed and the real me is deep inside. I kind of feel like that Columbus guy that discovered America (???) I’m not really good with my history or my geography or general knowledge really. But apart from discovering some place I’m kind of on a journey to find my true self. And believe it or not it’s bloody hard to dot hat when the true you has been well and truly hidden within you for years.

The point of this post really is to just say that finding yourself is important and the reason for that is pretty self explanatory. I just think that it’s sad that we’re the ones that create society, we are a part of society and yet we are the ones that get negatively effected by it. Not everyone but a lot of people do.

So my challenge to you guys is to do one thing that you love and that is a part of who you are, it can be little or small but even the smallest of steps can lead to big things. Remember to comment those things so I and other can get inspired because I just find people so inspirational.

Lots of love,

Christmas Plans

Hey everybody,

So after reading Teenage Blogger’s  blog I realised I really wanted to do something special for Christmas this year, after all that is round about the time I started blogging (well it was actually towards the end of the festive season but no one cares about those little details.)

I thought I’d start with Blogmas so let me know if you like the idea! Also so far I’ve only come up with a couple of ideas for it so if you have any cool ideas that you’d like to see me do let me know in the comments.

My ideas so far:

  • Christmas baking (5 easy Christmas recipes)
  • Top 10 Christmas films
  • Christmas playlist
  • Christmas Haul (homeware, clothing, accessories)
  • Gift Ideas
  • November Favourites – Christmas themed.

That’s kind of all I got so far and I need 19 more ideas which is kind of a lot!!!:)

Lots of love,

Rosypop xxx

So I just want to say thank you so much for being all so lovely and giving me so much support. I cannot thank you enough for what you did because you reminded me of how much I love blogging and of the “old” me. I think during the period of time I have had my blog I have changed and grown as a person and I forgot who I truly was beneath all the (i don’t really know how to put this) but layers? Now thatjust makes me sound like an onion but I guess some of you might know what I mean. So I’m really actually going to try and blog this time I know I’ve said that a billion trillion million times  but I am actually going to try.

Again thank you all so much for the support and I will definitely be more active.

Lots of love,

Rosypop X

Hey everybody,

So I’m not sure if I am going to continue to blog I just simply feel like I don’t have the time to blog anymore. I’m just not sure this blog rally has a purpose anymore. So I think I might be deleting this blog. Sorry.

Lots of love,

Far From You & All The Bright Places Book Reviews

Hey everyone,

IMG_0233 (2)

So today I’m doing something extremely different to what I normally post but here are two book reviews of Far from you by Tess Sharpe and All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.

Okay so first I’ll talk about Far From You and here’s the Goodreads’ summary:

 Sophie Winters nearly died. Twice.

The first time, she’s fourteen, and escapes a near-fatal car accident with scars, a bum leg, and an addiction to Oxy that’ll take years to kick.

The second time, she’s seventeen, and it’s no accident. Sophie and her best friend Mina are confronted by a masked man in the woods. Sophie survives, but Mina is not so lucky. When the cops deem Mina’s murder a drug deal gone wrong, casting partial blame on Sophie, no one will believe the truth: Sophie has been clean for months, and it was Mina who led her into the woods that night for a meeting shrouded in mystery.

After a forced stint in rehab, Sophie returns home to a chilly new reality. Mina’s brother won’t speak to her, her parents fear she’ll relapse, old friends have become enemies, and Sophie has to learn how to live without her other half. To make matters worse, no one is looking in the right places and Sophie must search for Mina’s murderer on her own. But with every step, Sophie comes closer to revealing all: about herself, about Mina and about the secret they shared.

I LOVED this book. It was a really emotional, raw story that also combined mystery and romance. Although the murder plot came together very slowly overall it had a great plot twist and the ending was really unpredictable! The book starts off with a confusing chain of events because Sophie’s life falls apart very quickly and everything is told in alternating chapters of before and after and this is just a  must-read.

Now I’ll do a little review on All The Bright Places.

So again, here’s the Goodreads’ summary:

The Fault in Our Stars meets Eleanor and Park in this exhilarating and heart-wrenching love story about a girl who learns to live from a boy who intends to die.

Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him.
Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death.
When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.

Again I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was so touching and emotional and the characters were quite relatable and I couldn’t put this book down. It’s such an honest book and I absolutely love it. Reading this book was like being on a roller coaster of emotions, you just have to read it to understand the amazingness.

There we go! Hope you enjoyed this *virtual hugs* ♥

Blogger Recognition Award

Hey everyone,

So by the time you are reading this I am going to be holidaying (if that’s a word) in France*excited squeals*

Anyway, I got nominated by the amazing lifechase to do this award and even though I’ve done this before I thought I’d do it again! Please check out lifechase‘s blog because it’s amazing and she’s only started blogging in June which is quite recently so it would mean the whole world to me if you could go and show her some love and support! I just looked through my drafts and realised that Brianna also nominated me to do this award ageeeeessss ago so I’m so sorry that I only go round to doing it now ♥

  •  Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Provide a link to the award creator. (The Blogger Recognition Award was founded by Eve Estells so check her out!)
  • Nominate fifteen other bloggers, excluding yourself and the person who nominated you.
  • Write a brief story of how you started your blog.
  • A piece or two of advice to new bloggers.
  • Comment on the blogs you have named here to let them know you have nominated them.

How did I start my blog?

You know that feeling when you want to talk about so many things but you can’t think of the right person to tell them to? I felt like that and I so I tried keeping a diary BUT it felt so pointless knowing that nobody’s reading what I’ve written and it wasn’t the same as talking to someone. Then I was watching a couple of YouTubers and one of them was talking about how she just posted a new blog post and then I realised that I could also start a blog but I could make it anonymous. Before that I never really considered the option of starting a blog and when I realised that I could do that I remember feeling soooooo excited! So the next day I was looking at different blogging platforms and I stumbled upon WordPress and decided to start a blog! The End.

Advice to new bloggers:

My one and only piece of advice would be to not put too much pressure on yourself. Because I know that there’s a lot of people like me out there who can put too much pressure on themselves and feel like they have to please everyone. But hey you don’t! Blogging is very much a personal thing and you blog for yourself and not for anyone else so you have to make sure that blogging is something that makes YOU happy and that you look forward to doing. Post whenever you want and whatever you want and don’t let yourself feel like you have to blog! This is something you chose to do because YOU wanted to do for yourself and NOT for others.

I nominate:

  • Everyone who wants to do this! Simply because I feel like so many people have done this already and I’m also really lazy and I can’t be bothered to nominate 15 people.

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading until the very end! *virtual hugs* ♥

Packing Tips

Hey everyone,

Seeing as I’ve been packing recently for my holiday I thought that it would only be right that I do a packing tips sort of post! So here you go:

#1 Create a list of everything that you will need! That way you’re less likely to forget any little but essential things like make-up wipes or phone charger or earphones etc.

IMG_0227 (2)

#2 Depending on how long your plane journey is, in general they can get quite boring so always bring a book or a tablet with you to keep you entertained.

#3 This is a tip/hack sort of thing that I discovered not long ago: when you pack your clothes, instead of folding them roll them because this saves sooo much space and stops creasing!

IMG_0228 (2)

I feel like there’s a stripy theme going on 🙂

#4 Use brightly coloured ribbons or tape to attach to the handle of your suitcase if it’s black or a common colour so that you can spot it easily!

#5 Have essentials in your hand luggage! It’s always best to be prepared for the worst and let’s face it, sometimes luggage goes missing. Make sure all your valuables are in your hand luggage and always pack a spare change of clothes in your hand luggage too, just in case the worst happens and your bag is lost/delayed. That way you won’t have to rush to the shops as soon as you arrive and waste your holiday money.

#6 When it comes to packing, you need to make use of every little space you can. Roll tops/underwear/socks and other small items & stuff them into your shoes to make sure every possible space is filled.

#7 Pack all your electrical items like phone charger, camera charger, adaptors, headphones in small bags so they don’t get lost in your suitcase!

#8 Wrap all the wires in a hair band so it doesn’t get tangled and if you’re like me and you always loose your hair bands you’ll have spare!

#9 Wear your larger shoes to the airport! This will save space and you can pack more stuff. However in saying that I think that if your luggage gets lost/stolen maybe wear the shoes that you know you will wear the most where you’re going and/or just pack a pair of lightweight shoes in your hand luggage.

#10 If you don’t have a toothbrush case thingy, use a binder clip to go on the brush part of the tooth brush!

#11 If you have things like necklaces put them through a straw so they don’t get tangled.

#12 If you mainly have make up that takes up a LOT of space because it’s in big, bulky packaging, to save space buy one of those contact lenses holder things and you can put your make up in those (like concealer, moisturiser etc.)

#13 This one is more of a life hack as well as a packing tip but if you have a lot of bobby pins put them into an empty tic tac container.

#14 If you have glass bottles like perfume or wine or idk put them in socks or wrap them in t-shirts instead of buying like bubble wrap because this will save space and money.

#15 Nearly forgot this one but make sure you always bring fluffy socks with you on the plane because feet tend to get soooooo cold on the plane. And it’s not just your feet so wear a comfy and warm hoodie even if you’re going somewhere hot.

#16 Finally, I know it’s nice to have like a designer, expensive suitcase but a lot of the time those are the suitcases that attract robbers at the airport so it’s better to just have a plain black, lightweight suitcase!

And there we go! I hope you enjoyed this post and *virtual hugs* to you all 🙂 ♥

Lots of love,

Rosypop xxx
